From a relaxing weekend stroll among hundreds of perfumed roses, to being able to choose plants from those actually displayed throughout the garden - Brindabella offers something for everyone. The "David Austin" English roses have truly become a speciality in this garden of over 2500 roses - Brindabella has become reknown as "Toowoomba's Home of David Austin Fragrant Roses". Now visitors can see the new exciting range of French Roses which have captivated rose growers all over Australia. With a total of over 400 varieties on display, choosing the one to purchase is a treasure hunt of seeing, touching and smelling of perfume and fragrance.
HEATLOVER ROSESTM-NEW RELEASE ROSES
It's all in the genes- ROSES can thrive in Qld but you just need to plant the right ones! There are many, many rose varieties that love heat and humidity, with lovely strong perfume and get little blackspot. There are thousands of varieties that hate our conditions mostly from down south - pull them out and let us show you the good ones to replace them with.
Beware bagged roses from chain stores - they are invariably last year's stock held all over summer in fridges and are mostly 40 - 50 year old varieties. You would never buy a 50 year old washing machine or FJ Holden today - think of the advances since then! It's the same with roses breeding - more flowers, better colours, better disease resistance.
